We are climate neutral! Sounds cool, but what does that actually mean?
Climate neutrality for companies encompasses direct emissions generated within the company (electricity and heat generation, vehicle fleet, volatile gases) and indirect emissions from purchased energy, business travel, and employee commuting. Other indirect emissions, which arise outside the company during the production of raw materials and semi-finished products, external logistics, product use and disposal, or other processes, are not covered by climate neutrality.
We reduce and avoid CO2 emissions wherever possible. What we cannot avoid, we offset.
We do this through ClimatePartner. They calculate the resulting CO2 emissions and offset them through recognized climate protection projects. Our climate protection project is the Bergwaldprojekt e.V. (Mountain Forest Project) in the Harz Mountains, which plants healthy mixed forests that act as important carbon sinks. This helps preserve native forest landscapes and protect endangered species. Since we work with internationally sourced raw materials, product offsetting seems essential to us.
Since 2020, we have also offset our company's emissions, although this has little impact due to our bicycle-loving employees and our existing relationship with green electricity.
If you would like to see what CO2 emissions we are offsetting together with ClimatePartner, you can find information about it here .
