Beeswax regularly plays a key role in the production of our cosmetics . We exclusively use organic or Demeter beeswax because natural beekeeping is very important to us. Natural beekeeping means that the bees are kept in a way that allows them to live out their natural needs and instincts as naturally as possible. The underlying principle is that the individual bee colony knows best how to help itself and what it needs. To allow the colony to act independently as undisturbed as possible, beekeepers intervene as little as possible.
This could look something like this:
- Enjoy honey in moderation - only take as much as the bees can spare for overwintering.
- Set up a buffet - To provide bees with enough food throughout the year, plants rich in nutrients for bees should be planted in the surrounding area.
- Bees also need a strong immune system - no interventions through medication, etc.
- Leave the bees to design the "interior" of their hive themselves.
- The dwellings should be made of natural materials.
- Freedom for the queen! The queen can move freely, and the bee colony decides where and how the brood chamber and honey chamber are built.
- Sometimes relocations are necessary – when space becomes too limited, the swarm splits up and the queen moves with a portion of the colony. This is how they reproduce through swarming.
