Our Story

forpeople started because conventional skincare just didn't cut it for us: too many ingredients, too much water, too little real effect.

This page explains how it came about — and what we stand for today.

The idea

Benno, a climbing instructor and sports masseur, spent years searching for the right hand cream — and never found one. So he started experimenting in his flatshare kitchen. He kept going until the first formula worked. And a few drains had paid the price.

From the idea to the first jar

In 2019, Benno showed the cream to his brother Fritz. Together with Marc and Lennart, they turned it into the first real prototype: the "Daumenschmaus". That's when things really took off.

The first parcels from the flat

In 2020, the first packages went out — straight from the flat. Eventually they outgrew the space, rented an office, and Fritz and Marc quit their jobs. That's how the idea became 4peoplewhocare.

Growing

Between 2021 and 2024, partners like Alnatura joined, we built our own production facility and expanded the range. The thread running through it all stayed the same: good for your skin, good for the environment.

New name, same attitude

In 2025 we relaunched with a new design and a new name: forpeople. Fritz, Marc and the whole team in Hamburg keep doing what they've always done — 100% actives, 0% water, and a lot of heart.

The problem with conventional skincare

Most creams are mostly water. Water doesn't nourish — it evaporates. What's left is often not enough to genuinely strengthen your skin.

Many products only work short-term: your skin feels better right away, but the effect doesn't last. You reapply, again and again. Over time, your skin gets used to the constant top-up — instead of becoming more resilient on its own.

Our approach: skincare without water

We take the opposite approach. Our skincare is waterless and made from highly concentrated actives. So your skin needs less, not more.

It all comes down to three things: protection, repair and calm for your skin. Fewer products that actually do the job.

How we work today

Pared-down formulas

As few ingredients as possible, as many as needed. Whatever adds nothing, we leave out.

Proven raw materials

Plant oils, waxes and minerals with a long track record — not whatever's trending in active ingredients right now.

Clear product logic

Every product has a purpose. A lineup that doesn't need explaining.

Attitude & responsibility

Responsible sourcing

Certified organic where possible. Instead of synthetic fillers we use natural raw materials like baking soda or zinc.

Mindful production

Every product is handmade in Germany — plastic-free packaging, built for reuse.

Long-term thinking

Regional, transparent and regenerative. With every product, we give a little back to nature.
