The formula is very water-resistant, ideal for activities around water or while swimming.

Does the sunscreen leave a white film?

The whitening effect is kept to a minimum, the cream sinks in well after you spread it and doesn't feel sticky at all! But to be honest: a slight white film does stay behind. Since we make natural cosmetics, use no chemical sun blockers and no nanoparticles, that's unavoidable. Best to take a look at the product photos.

Is the sunscreen suitable for children?

Yes, it's developed specifically for children and is suitable from 10 months of age.

How much sun cream should I use?

How do I use the solid sunscreen correctly? – Step-by-step guide

Push the sunscreen out of the sleeve: Gently push the solid sunscreen up out of the sleeve from below with a finger, until the white cream just peeks out. Make sure only a small amount comes out – the solid sunscreen goes a long way and can be applied evenly to give an effective UV protection barrier.
Apply gently: Apply the solid sunscreen to your skin like a lip balm. Glide the cream over the areas you want, especially sensitive spots like the face, ears, neck and shoulders. The solid texture spreads easily and is especially suitable for children's skin, since it contains no harmful chemicals or fragrances.
Massage in and spread: After applying, massage the sunscreen in thoroughly until it's evenly spread and forms a protective UV layer. Massaging it in helps the cream absorb properly into the skin and do its job. Handy detail: while you cream up your child, you can work with one hand and use the other to support or comfort them.
Reapply regularly: To keep the UV protection up, reapply the sunscreen every two hours, or after swimming and towelling off. The compact shape of the solid sunscreen makes it perfect for on the go, so you can be sure anytime, anywhere that your skin and your children's skin are well protected.

Tip:

After use, you don't need to push the stick back into the sleeve – there's enough room in the sleeve for the cream to peek over the edge.

Which ingredients should I avoid in cosmetic products?

When choosing cosmetic products, watch out especially for synthetic chemicals and plastics, which conventional products often contain. In our natural cosmetics we rely solely on certified, plant-based ingredients that care for your skin gently.

Ingredients worth avoiding include parabens, silicones, mineral oil and synthetic fragrances. These can irritate the skin and, over time, throw off its natural balance. Our products are all free of these and of artificial colourants and preservatives, so we guarantee natural care that protects and strengthens the skin. Instead of harmful ingredients we rely on plant oils, essential oils and antioxidant plant extracts that give your skin moisture and help it regenerate.

Why do you use titanium dioxide (non-nano) in the cream?

Why we use titanium dioxide and zinc oxide:
For reliable UVA and UVB protection, there is currently no effective mineral alternative to the combination of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. Zinc oxide is especially effective in the UVA range, while titanium dioxide gives stronger protection against UVB rays – together they provide comprehensive protection.

But: we deliberately use no nanoparticles.
Our sunscreen contains titanium dioxide and zinc oxide in non-nano form. And from our point of view that is the key point. Nanoparticles can potentially be harmful to health when inhaled – e.g. via sprays. That is why we deliberately go with a solid formulation. It cannot be inhaled the way a spray can, which rules out uptake through the airways.

The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) also confirms that titanium dioxide is not absorbed through the skin – and that is the main way sunscreen is used.

The consumer advice centre Verbraucherzentrale NRW also recommends mineral sunscreens with natural cosmetics seals such as NATRUE or COSMOS, which use only non-nano zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.
