Do you still remember how present sustainability once was? In 2018, 2019, it was suddenly everywhere: on the streets, in the headlines, in our heads. Fridays for Future filled the squares, climate protection was a top topic in politics and sustainable consumption was on trend. I still remember exactly how excited I was when I first heard that zero-waste shops and plastic-free everyday products existed. I thought: Wow, there really is another way! We can change the world for the better.
And today? A lot has changed. Zero-waste shops are closing, sustainable companies are filing for bankruptcy and environmental protection seems to have been pushed into the background long ago. When I applied to forpeople a year and a half ago, I asked myself: Do small, sustainable companies even have a future? My confidence and stubborn will to work for a good future won out. Today I'm glad the doubts couldn't steer me away from my ideals and values. Because I'm sticking to my conviction: we can change the world for the better.
Times aren't easy right now. Many people are wrestling with very different challenges – rising prices, uncertainty, worries about the future. We completely understand that sustainability is no longer at the top of the priority list. But at forpeople we agree on one thing: sustainability is more important than ever. Right now. Precisely because things have gone quieter. As a small company committed to environmental protection – with products that are made fairly and sustainably and an impact model that promotes biodiversity – we're holding firm to our path.
Glowing skin for a blooming future
Our products stand not just for natural care – they stand for an attitude. For doing business in harmony with people and nature.
Here's what that looks like for us:
đ± Sustainability from the start
Wherever possible, our raw materials come straight from the producers. That's how we guarantee fair conditions and short, transparent supply chains. We produce in Germany, and our packaging is refillable, recyclable or made from upcycled materials. Our hand cream? It causes only 197.66 g COâ – a conventional plastic tube, by contrast, over 600 g.
đ§ Less is more
Our formulas are pared down to the essentials: certified organic, regional ingredients wherever possible. With lean formulas free of unnecessary fillers, the products aren't just wonderfully long-lasting but also especially gentle on skin and the environment. By doing without water, we can do without emulsifiers, preservatives and thickeners – and so protect body and environment from too many influences.
đŒ Giving back more than we take
With every product, 1 mÂČ of new biodiversity is created – through wildflower meadows, peatland restoration or rainforest reforestation. Because real sustainability means: we give nature back more than we take from it.
Let's keep at it together
The current mood hasn't gone unnoticed by us either. We notice that fair and sustainable products no longer meet the interest there was a few years ago. But we stand by our values – even in difficult times. So that we can keep doing this and achieve real change, we need you:
- Recommend us to others
- Share our mission
- Leave reviews in online shops
- Support other sustainable brands
Because together, sustainability stays more than just a trend: a promise to the future.
