We almost never use plastic packaging. And for good reason: there's a huge global problem with plastic waste! The fact that we're now using a PET bottle, and doing so with complete conviction, is thanks to a revolutionary change brought about by zerooo.

The choice between glass and plastic was Never easy in the context of sustainability. Here, the environmental damage caused by plastic waste is contrasted with the high CO₂ emissions associated with glass. While glass packaging avoids the waste problem, its energy-intensive production and recycling, which involves temperatures up to 1,600 degrees Celsius, require approximately six times the energy of plastic packaging.

And plastic also performs better in terms of transport and safety: because the lighter and more shatterproof packaging is CO₂-saving in transport, safer in use and often more durable than the fragile glass versions.

What has changed with zerooo bottles? The PET bottle is now part of a reusable system! The new PET deposit bottles are simply returned to reverse vending machines after use, collected, cleaned, and refilled. This eliminates two major challenges: waste is minimized and the energy required for recycling is reduced.

When a bottle reaches the end of its reusable cycle, it continues sustainably: During the cleaning process, it is collected and, thanks to the single-material recycling, recycled. It is then processed into new products of equivalent value. This creates a virtually endless cycle that reduces waste and emissions to a minimum.

With this reusable packaging concept, we are helping to further reduce the ecological footprint of our packaging. Once your Aloe Vera Serum is empty, you can now easily return the deposit bottle to Budni, Müller, Edeka, REWE and Globus self-service stores, as well as to some zero-waste shops.
