Just pat your skin lightly dry after showering. The solid butter spreads most easily on warm, slightly damp skin.

Glide the bar straight over the dry areas or warm it briefly in your hands. A little is enough: the butter and wax stay on the skin as a thin film.

What is a solid body butter?

A body lotion in solid form without water: plant butters, oils and wax that are solid at room temperature and soften on warm skin. Because it contains no water, a small amount is enough. It holds moisture in the skin but adds none of its own. More in Lotion bar: what is a solid lotion?

What is the best way to apply the body butter?

Straight after showering, on warm skin that you have only patted dry. Glide the bar over the dry areas or warm it in your hands, spread the butter and massage it in. Start with a little and add more if needed.

Does the body butter feel greasy?

The oils spread out as you massage it in, while the butter and wax stay on the skin as a thin film; that is intended. How long you can feel it depends mainly on the amount. With a little butter and some massaging, your skin soon stops feeling greasy; only then get dressed.

Does the body butter smell of honey?

Yes, lightly. No perfume and no essential oils are added. The soft, natural honey scent comes from the beeswax, which has been in contact with honey, pollen and propolis in the hive. The scent may fade over time; that is normal. More in Why does beeswax smell of honey?

Can I also use the body butter on my hands, feet or face?

On hands, feet, elbows and knees, yes. On the face it is at most something for individual dry patches, and only after testing it on a small area. It is not intended for the lips or the eye area. More in Body butter for hands, feet and face.

How long does a tin last, and is there a refill?

The 40 g tin lasts for approx. 100 applications, depending on how much skin you cover. After that you refill it with the refill: the same butter, 40 g, without a tin. For travelling there is a mini size with 8 g. How refilling works is explained in Refillable hand cream.

Does the body butter go soft in summer?

Yes. Cocoa butter and shea butter soften even in summer warmth, while the beeswax only melts well above 60 °C. Butter that has gone soft has not spoiled: let it firm up again somewhere cool. Pale spots after melting are usually fat crystals. Store the tin somewhere cool, dry and shaded. More in Storing solid cosmetics.
