Why should solid soap sit on a soap dish?

Solid soap that sits in water goes soft on the underside and dissolves faster. On the loofah dish, water drains through the fibres and the soap can dry between uses. More in Solid soap goes mushy – how to store it.

Why does the dish need air?

Loofah is a natural material. If the dish stays wet all the time, for example in a puddle by the sink or in the corner of the shower, it can turn musty and go mouldy. With natural fibres, that is normal. So place it where water can drain and let it dry in the air without the soap from time to time.

How do I clean the soap dish?

Rinse it under warm water, squeeze out soap residue and let it dry in the air. If it gets dark spots or smells musty, replace it.

How long does the soap dish last?

That depends above all on how well it can dry. Replace it when it gets dark spots, smells musty or starts to fall apart.

Can I use the dish for anything else?

Yes. Soaked, it works as a small exfoliating pad for hands or feet. Use a separate one for that, not the one your soap sits on.

Which soaps does the dish suit?
