Today we want to tell you openly what's been going on with us over the past few weeks. At the end of September we sadly had to file for provisional insolvency. Sales simply weren't enough any more â even though we tried everything right up to the end.
Made in Germany - not easy right now
As a company that produces in Germany, we've felt the price pressure strongly over the past months and years. Many people are now watching every euro even more closely. But we didn't want to cut corners on quality or on our values â and that was hard to keep up financially. On top of that, our small production was never running at full capacity. So production stood still several days a week, and over the long run that just doesn't add up.

A long repurchase cycle - sustainable but not profitable
And there's more: our products simply last too long. That's wonderfully sustainable, but for a small company like ours, with hardly any money for big ad campaigns, it's a real challenge. We live off our regular customers â and off you recommending us to others. And that's exactly what you did. Many people found us through friends. That makes us incredibly proud â and for that we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
So what now?
In October we fought, we crunched the numbers and we worked out how things could carry on. And just before Christmas we can now say: we're carrying on! đ We've restructured, as the buzzword goes. We've found a partner who will carry the brand on together with us.
The best part:
- Almost the whole team stays on board. Clara, Madeleine, Lea, Marc and Fritz.
Only our dear Freya is leaving us at this stage, and we wish her all the best from the bottom of our hearts and lots of success with her upcoming master's thesis! - Our values and our impact stay the same.
- Our formulas stay just as you love them, too.
- There will soon be great new products that we've been planning for a long time!
Production stays in Germany
It's just moving a bit further south, to a partner in Bavaria. The reason is simple: our own production was never running at full capacity, the premises cost too much, and sourcing raw materials in small batches made it hard to get good prices. We didn't want to push our suppliers down on price â and that won't change. The nice thing is that we can take many of our existing partners along with us and keep sourcing from them in future through our new producer. So our supply chain stays almost unchanged.

New products guaranteed!
Some exciting new products that we've worked on for a long time are taking shape right now at our new partner. In two weeks we can tell you more about them â stay tuned!
Five wild years
After five wild years, plenty of ups and downs, a pandemic, lockdowns and upheavals in the organic sector, we're grateful that things carry on. We've learned a lot â and the most important thing is: we get to keep going.
If you'd like to support us in this new chapter, we'd be so happy if you joined us for our Christmas season â for example by gifting our advent calendar or by stopping by our shop again in three weeks. That's when our new gift sets go online. For us, this is the moment to show that our concept works â with you by our side.
Thank you for walking with us, supporting us and spreading the word.
Your support means a great deal to us.
Grateful greetings
Marc and Fritz
and the whole team at forpeople
