What is our impact?

Was ist unser Impact?

Our ingredients are largely sourced from nature, and we want to give something back through the sale of our products. For every product sold, we plant 3 square meters of wildflower meadow (except for Auf's Mäulchen , which donates 1 square meter), ideally close to you. Currently, we're working with five partners: the Ayinger Herb Garden in Bavaria, Gut Wulfsdorf near Hamburg, Hof Nagel in Hesse, Hof Becker near Cologne, and Burgwallhof near Berlin. Depending on the project, perennial wildflower meadows are sown in spring and sometimes again in autumn. This means that while the meadow is mowed once a year, the flowers will continue to grow for up to five years – a principle you might recognize from your own garden.
Why did we choose wildflower meadows ? Firstly, they are essential for bees – our industrious employees, without whom a key ingredient in many of our products, beeswax, would not exist. However, wildflower meadows not only provide a habitat for bees, but also for a variety of insects, birds, and small animals. These suffer greatly from the way conventional agriculture is sometimes practiced. The intensification of monocultures, pesticides, and chemical-synthetic fertilizers, among other things, are causing a continuous decline in biodiversity, and this has far-reaching consequences for nature. There are fewer and fewer honeybees and wild bees to pollinate plants, food chains for birds, for example, are disrupted due to the reduced insect population, and other important functions can no longer be fulfilled. Did you know, for instance, that insects significantly influence soil fertility by breaking down dead biomass and are also involved in the self-purification processes of bodies of water?
Planting wildflower meadows and strips alongside fields creates urgently needed habitats that give biodiversity a boost. Wildflower strips along field edges also reduce the amount of fertilizer and the veterinary medicines they sometimes contain that are washed into the environment. The wildflower strips even facilitate their biodegradation.
With our wildflower meadow projects , we strive to create a meaningful cycle. We minimize the environmental impact of our products and give back directly through the wildflower meadows we create. That's why we use only a few, carefully selected ingredients and design our products without plastic. So, with our wildflower meadow projects, you can also give something back to nature. We appreciate everyone who actively supports our mission.
