As you know, we plant a wildflower meadow for every product sold.
But do you know what types of wildflower strips there are?
Annual flower strips: Birds, insects, and small mammals especially benefit from annual flower strips. They provide food for birds, and open-pollinated varieties are grown.
Perennial flower strips: Perennial flower strips are sometimes left standing for two years. This provides certain insects with a place to overwinter.
Wild seeding: With wild seeding, no seeds are sown. This gives arable weeds a chance to germinate and develop leaves. Other insects also find a home in this brighter area.
Plough furrow: When a plough furrow is created, the soil is plowed, leaving a 20-30 cm wide "dent". This creates a so-called "breakover edge" for insects. Insects that live in the soil can find a place in this area.
Different types of flowering strips allow insects to move back and forth between the two areas.
This interaction between seeds and animals increases biodiversity.
